ATTN HBCU bound or attending alum: The Dallas Mavericks are teaming up with the United Negro College Fund to provide five (5) additional college scholarships to DFW-based, HBCU students. All student classifications are encouraged to apply from incoming freshmen to seniors. All Mavs College Scholarship recipients will receive on-going mentoring from Dallas Mavericks staff and opportunities for Mavs summer jobs, potential internships or other work experience.
This scholarship can be applied to any accredited UNCF member institution or another accredited HBCU that is either in or out of state. Application deadline is August 31 at 11:59 PM.

The DeSoto Public Library will host this event on Saturday August 13, 3:00 pm -5:30 pm in the amphitheater behind the library!
The library will celebrate all readers of all ages and all levels who participated in the annual Mayor’s Summer Reading Club. So, grab your towels for a wet afternoon of water activities, inflatable slides, crafts, games, snacks, and much more! This will also be the final opportunity to pick up your summer reading prizes, as well as announce the Grand Prize Winners for the Summer Reading Program!
